Shrine of our Lady Queen of Peace

Built by and Dedicated to Parish Members

In 1944 work begun to build the beautiful shrine.  This was a parish project in that to include as many members as possible, the children even helped by finding the stones used in the construction.  Mr. Ben Krussel was in charge of the building of the shrine.  With so much work and material being donated, the grotto only cost about $700.00.

In May the Shrine  of Our Lady Queen of Peace was dedicated to the parish members serving in the armed forces.

It was customary that during summer evenings the rosary and other prayers were said at the shrine for the intentions of world peace and the safety of those in service.

The Power of Prayer

Those prayers for the safe return of service men have been effective in that not one member of the parish in Leopold has failed to return home alive.
